![]() In the first chapter, we meet a spring fairy she is currently capturing in a portrait, something that Isobel does often for this fairy. She is smart enough to wish for things that could keep her and her family safe. ![]() In the novel, Isobel is a creator of the craft and someone who has learned at a young age to be wary of the gifts of the fae. If a Fae attempts it, it will doom them to turn to ash. The Craft is something only mortal beings can do. It could mean anything from painting, all the way to just simply cooking. In the town of Whimsy where they are in an eternal summer, the people of Whimsy deal with things that are called crafts. In Margaret Rogerson’s An Enchantment of Ravens, she tells a tale of Fae beings that are immortal and extremely tricky beings that often cursed humans into death or extreme situations. ![]() Contemporary tales of the Fae, fairies that belong to the courts of the four seasons, often have a set of rules they have to follow. ![]()
